Congratulations to the boys selected, for those who weren't I will be supplying feedback by the weekend. However, because the trial was so close (the assessor deliberated for over 1 hour to come up with the final list) the ones not selected need to keep up the good work and lets see what happens in the future.
The first Training session will be on Friday 3rd January at Sherborne School - 7.30 -9.30.

I hope the season finds you well.
There seems to be some confusion going around as to the actual date for the U15 North Trial this email hopefully removes that confusion.

Please follow this link http://www.marlboroughcollege.org/fileadmin/user_upload/General_Documents/Maps/03.SportsWinter_v6_.pdf for how to get to the venue and please ensure you park at the WATER MEADOWS car park, players should therefore head for the MARLBURIAN building shown on the map.
There is a big inside space adjacent to the pitch, which will be yours between 10 and 4pm. where you can store stuff there, but not get changed.
When you arrive come and see me (large bloke, happy smile) in the Marlburian Building for registration and Bib allocation
We will be using the XV rugby pitch all day.
Some housekeeping notes;
1) Come changed ready to register and start - there is nowhere to get changed.
2) Bring a change of gear in case of rain.
3) Ensure you bring a packed lunch - there is nowhere to eat on site.
MAKE SURE YOU GET A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP AS THIS IS GOING TO BE A FULL ON DAY

u15s win South West 10s for 4th consecutive year
Pete Mannifield reports that the Dorset & Wilts u15s won the South West Regional 10s Tournament at Chippenham RFC last
Sunday 21st April, 2013, for the fourth consecutive year, beating Oxfordshire 19-7 in
the final.
Twelve teams from a total of ten counties took part (Bucks, Cornwall, Devon, Hampshire,
Oxfordshire, Surrey, Sussex, Berkshire, Dorset & Wilts. and Somerset) as well as two
squads from Newport Gwent Dragons.

D&W U15 victorious in Bath Cup
D&W U15 20 v 10 Somerset U15
D&W were victorious last night in the inaugural Bath Cup in a hard fought fixture under floodlights at Bath Rec.
Congratulation to the whole County Squad (including the Development Squad) for making this again, an unbeaten season.
Many thanks must go to all the coaches, Frank Butler (RFU), Chris Smith (Sherborne), Mark Roshier (D&W) and Martyn Peel (Dorchester) for galvanising the boys into a very flowing rugby outfit. Thanks also to Rona Kelly (Physio/First Aid) who has kept the boys patched up and glued together.

The rationale behind this is that we need all players within the group to have the same skill sets in case there are injuries, illness holidays etc and this is easier to achieve if all were training together.

St John will know exactly where we got the "Barbarian" side from at under 14 last year and I am happy to contact him and follow up to achieve something similar this time - I imagine it is a question of liaising with the Directors of Rugby - Mike at Bryanston, Mark/Peter at Canford, David at Sherborne, Rich at Clayesmore and Marcus at Dauntseys etc- and seeing what I can pull together.

Apologies for the delay but I was not informed until Monday that Salisbury cannot host the training sessions for various reasons, hence the transfer to North Dorset, and Bryanston only gave us the OK 1/2 and hour ago.

Would it be possible for you to help with the match for the Development Squad on 14th April possibly at Clayesmore School. Not sure where to draw the Barbarians Side from but hopefully you can help.

We spoke on Tuesday evening and discussed the idea of Bath Coaches being able to give the Development Squad a 1 Off coaching session (gives Bath the opportunity of looking at the boys on the edge of the County Squad) Possibly use the Sunday 24th March with a venue to be discussed. Please let me know your thoughts.
We also need to finalise the possibility of the D&W v Somerset (our turn to be home side Somerset last year) at the rec. Provisionally booked for March/April but we were waiting on sanction from the club. Please advise.
